How we check

Every settlement comes from its official notice.

Class action settlements are approved by a court and run by a settlement administrator, who publishes an official notice and website. That's where everything on ClaimWell comes from.

Where it comes from

For each settlement we read the official settlement website and its court-approved notice: who the class is, the deadlines, what each claim pays, the proof it asks for, the administrator, and the case number and court when the site gives them. Dates and amounts are kept only when they appear in the official text.

Checked before it's published

A settlement appears on ClaimWell only once it has been checked. Anything that doesn't add up, such as a missing deadline, conflicting dates or an unclear class, is held back until it's resolved. A wrong deadline is the worst mistake we could make, so we would rather show a settlement later than show it wrong.

Checked again

Official sites change: deadlines move, amounts are updated, claim forms open. We re-read every open settlement regularly, and again as its deadline gets close. Every page says when it was last checked. When a deadline passes, the page stays up, marked closed.

Written in plain English

The summary at the top of each page is ours, written from the official notice so it's quick to read. Where the exact wording matters, such as who is in the class, we quote the notice and say so. Every page links to the official site and claim form, and where the two differ, the official site is right.

Independent

ClaimWell is paid for by the people who use it, through Premium. We aren't paid by law firms, administrators or the companies in a settlement, and we don't file claims or take a share of any payment.

Spotted a mistake?

Write to support@claimwell.app with the settlement and what's wrong. We check it against the official site and correct the page. ClaimWell summarizes official information; it isn't legal advice.
